“और सत्य को जानोगे, और सत्य तुम्हें स्वतंत्र करेगा।”
“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
7. यहोवा की व्यवस्था खरी है, वह प्राण को बहाल कर देती है; यहोवा के नियम विश्वासयोग्य हैं, साधारण लोगों को बुद्धिमान बना देते हैं;
8. यहोवा के उपदेश सिद्ध हैं, हृदय को आनन्दित कर देते हैं; यहोवा की आज्ञा निर्मल है, वह आंखों में ज्योति ले आती है;
9. यहोवा का भय पवित्र है, वह अनन्तकाल तक स्थिर रहता है; यहोवा के नियम सत्य और पूरी रीति से धर्ममय हैं।
10. वे तो सोने से और बहुत कुन्दन से भी बढ़कर मनोहर हैं; वे मधु से और टपकने वाले छत्ते से भी बढ़कर मधुर हैं।
11. और उन्हीं से तेरा दास चिताया जाता है; उनके पालन करने से बड़ा ही प्रतिफल मिलता है।

2. क्योंकि उसकी करूणा हमारे ऊपर प्रबल हुई है; और यहोवा की सच्चाई सदा की है याह की स्तुति करो!
7. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
1. O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.
पाठ उपदेश
1 हेमेरे पुत्र, मेरी शिक्षा को न भूलना; अपने हृदय में मेरी आज्ञाओं को रखे रहना;
2 क्योंकि ऐसा करने से तेरी आयु बढ़ेगी, और तू अधिक कुशल से रहेगा।
3 कृपा और सच्चाई तुझ से अलग न होने पाएं; वरन उन को अपने गले का हार बनाना, और अपनी हृदय रूपी पटिया पर लिखना।
4 और तू परमेश्वर और मनुष्य दोनों का अनुग्रह पाएगा, तू अति बुद्धिमान होगा॥
5 तू अपनी समझ का सहारा न लेना, वरन सम्पूर्ण मन से यहोवा पर भरोसा रखना।
21 हे मेरे पुत्र, ये बातें तेरी दृष्टि की ओट न हाने पाएं; खरी बुद्धि और विवेक की रक्षा कर।
22 तब इन से तुझे जीवन मिलेगा, और ये तेरे गले का हार बनेंगे।
23 और तू अपने मार्ग पर निडर चलेगा, और तेरे पांव में ठेस न लगेगी।
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
16 अहाब एलिय्याह से मिलने चला।
17 एलिय्याह को देखते ही अहाब ने कहा, हे इस्राएल के सताने वाले क्या तू ही है?
18 उसने कहा, मैं ने इस्राएल को कष्ट नहीं दिया, परन्तु तू ही ने और तेरे पिता के घराने ने दिया है; क्योंकि तुम यहोवा की आज्ञाओं को टाल कर बाल देवताओं की उपासना करने लगे।
19 अब दूत भेज कर सारे इस्राएल को और बाल के साढ़े चार सौ नबियों और अशेरा के चार सौ नबियों को जो ईज़ेबेल की मेज पर खाते हैं, मेरे पास कर्म्मेल पर्वत पर इकट्ठा कर ले।
20 तब अहाब ने सारे इस्राएलियों को बुला भेजा और नबियों को कर्म्मेल पर्वत पर इकट्ठा किया।
21 और एलिय्याह सब लोगों के पास आकर कहने लगा, तुम कब तक दो विचारों में लटके रहोगे, यदि यहोवा परमेश्वर हो, तो उसके पीछे हो लो; और यदि बाल हो, तो उसके पीछे हो लो। लोगों ने उसके उत्तर में एक भी बात न कही।
22 तब एलिय्याह ने लोगों से कहा, यहोवा के नबियों में से केवल मैं ही रह गया हूँ; और बाल के नबी साढ़े चार सौ मनुष्य हैं।
23 इसलिये दो बछड़े लाकर हमें दिए जाएं, और वे एक अपने लिये चुनकर उसे टुकड़े टुकड़े काट कर लकड़ी पर रख दें, और कुछ आग न लगाएं; और मैं दूसरे बछड़े को तैयार करके लकड़ी पर रखूंगा, और कुछ आग न लगाऊंगा।
24 तब तुम तो अपने दवता से प्रार्थना करना, और मैं यहोवा से प्रार्थना करूंगा, और जो आग गिराकर उत्तर दे वही परमेश्वर ठहरे। तब सब लोग बोल उठे, अच्छी बात।
25 और एलिय्याह ने बाल के नबियों से कहा, पहिले तुम एक बछड़ा चुनकर तैयार कर लो, क्योंकि तुम तो बहुत हो; तब अपने देवता से प्रार्थना करना, परन्तु आग न लगाना।
26 तब उन्होंने उस बछड़े को जो उन्हें दिया गया था ले कर तैयार किया, और भोर से ले कर दोपहर तक वह यह कह कर बाल से प्रार्थना करते रहे, कि हे बाल हमारी सुन, हे बाल हमारी सुन! परन्तु न कोई शब्द और न कोई उत्तर देने वाला हुआ। तब वे अपनी बनाई हुई वेदी पर उछलने कूदने लगे।
29 वे दोपहर भर ही क्या, वरन भेंट चढ़ाने के समय तक नबूवत करते रहे, परन्तु कोई शब्द सुन न पड़ा; और न तो किसी ने उत्तर दिया और न कान लगाया।
30 तब एलिय्याह ने सब लोगों से कहा, मेरे निकट आओ; और सब लोग उसके निकट आए। तब उसने यहोवा की वेदी की जो गिराई गई थी मरम्मत की।
33 तब उसने वेदी पर लकड़ी को सजाया, और बछड़े को टुकड़े टुकड़े काटकर लकड़ी पर धर दिया, और कहा, चार घड़े पानी भर के होमबलि, पशु और लकड़ी पर उण्डेल दो।
34 तब उसने कहा, दूसरी बार वैसा ही करो; तब लोगों ने दूसरी बार वैसा ही किया। फिर उसने कहा, तीसरी बार करो; तब लोगों ने तीसरी बार भी वैसा ही किया।
35 और जल वेदी के चारों ओर बह गया, और गड़हे को भी उसने जल से भर दिया।
36 फिर भेंट चढ़ाने के समय एलिय्याह नबी समीप जा कर कहने लगा, हे इब्राहीम, इसहाक और इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा! आज यह प्रगट कर कि इस्राएल में तू ही परमेश्वर है, और मैं तेरा दास हूँ, और मैं ने ये सब काम तुझ से वचन पाकर किए हैं।
37 हे यहावा! मेरी सुन, मेरी सुन, कि ये लोग जान लें कि हे यहोवा, तू ही परमेश्वर है, और तू ही उनका मन लौटा लेता है।
38 तब यहोवा की आग आकाश से प्रगट हुई और होमबलि को लकड़ी और पत्थरों और धूलि समेत भस्म कर दिया, और गड़हे में का जल भी सुखा दिया।
39 यह देख सब लोग मुंह के बल गिरकर बोल उठे, यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है, यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है।
41 फिर एलिय्याह ने अहाब से कहा, उठ कर खा पी, क्योंकि भारी वर्षा की सनसनाहट सुन पडती है।
46 तब यहोवा की शक्ति एलिय्याह पर ऐसी हुई; कि वह कमर बान्धकर अहाब के आगे आगे यिज्रेल तक दौड़ता चला गया।
16 Ahab went to meet Elijah.
17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table.
20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.
21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.
33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah;
160 तेरा सारा वचन सत्य ही है; और तेरा एक एक धर्ममय नियम सदा काल तक अटल है॥
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
4 प्रभु में सदा आनन्दित रहो; मैं फिर कहता हूं, आनन्दित रहो।
5 तुम्हारी कोमलता सब मनुष्यों पर प्रगट हो: प्रभु निकट है।
6 किसी भी बात की चिन्ता मत करो: परन्तु हर एक बात में तुम्हारे निवेदन, प्रार्थना और बिनती के द्वारा धन्यवाद के साथ परमेश्वर के सम्मुख अपस्थित किए जाएं।
7 तब परमेश्वर की शान्ति, जो समझ से बिलकुल परे है, तुम्हारे हृदय और तुम्हारे विचारों को मसीह यीशु में सुरिक्षत रखेगी॥
8 निदान, हे भाइयों, जो जो बातें सत्य हैं, और जो जो बातें आदरणीय हैं, और जो जो बातें उचित हैं, और जो जो बातें पवित्र हैं, और जो जो बातें सुहावनी हैं, और जो जो बातें मनभावनी हैं, निदान, जो जो सदगुण और प्रशंसा की बातें हैं, उन्हीं पर ध्यान लगाया करो।
9 जो बातें तुम ने मुझ से सीखीं, और ग्रहण की, और सुनी, और मुझ में देखीं, उन्हीं का पालन किया करो, तब परमेश्वर जो शान्ति का सोता है तुम्हारे साथ रहेगा॥
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
2 हे प्रिय, मेरी यह प्रार्थना है; कि जैसे तू आत्मिक उन्नति कर रहा है, वैसे ही तू सब बातों मे उन्नति करे, और भला चंगा रहे।
3 क्योंकि जब भाइयों ने आकर, तेरे उस सत्य की गवाही दी, जिस पर तू सचमुच चलता है, तो मैं बहुत ही आनन्दित हुआ।
4 मुझे इस से बढ़कर और कोई आनन्द नहीं, कि मैं सुनूं, कि मेरे लड़के-बाले सत्य पर चलते हैं।
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
विचारकों का समय आ गया है। सत्य, सिद्धांतों और समय-सम्मानित प्रणालियों से स्वतंत्र, मानवता के द्वार पर दस्तक देता है। अतीत के साथ संतोष और भौतिकवाद की ठंडी परम्परा के बीच टकराव कम हो रहा है। भगवान की अज्ञानता अब विश्वास के रास्ते का पत्थर नहीं है। आज्ञाकारिता का एकमात्र ज़मानता उसी की एक सही आशंका है जिसे जानने के लिए जीवन अनन्त है। यद्यपि साम्राज्य गिरते हैं, "प्रभु हमेशा के लिए शासन करेंगे।"

The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity. Contentment with the past and the cold conventionality of materialism are crumbling away. Ignorance of God is no longer the steppingstone to faith. The only guarantee of obedience is a right apprehension of Him whom to know aright is Life eternal. Though empires fall, "the Lord shall reign forever."
Since the author's discovery of the might of Truth in the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has been fully tested and has not been found wanting; but to reach the heights of Christian Science, man must live in obedience to its divine Principle. To develop the full might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet concord to sound.

Christian Science brings to light Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil.

It is ignorance and false belief, based on a material sense of things, which hide spiritual beauty and goodness. Understanding this, Paul said: "Neither death, nor life, ... nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God." This is the doctrine of Christian Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind nor life result in death. The perfect man — governed by God, his perfect Principle — is sinless and eternal.
Harmony is produced by its Principle, is controlled by it and abides with it. Divine Principle is the Life of man. Man's happiness is not, therefore, at the disposal of physical sense. Truth is not contaminated by error. Harmony in man is as beautiful as in music, and discord is unnatural, unreal.

When the final physical and moral effects of Christian Science are fully apprehended, the conflict between truth and error, understanding and belief, Science and material sense, foreshadowed by the prophets and inaugurated by Jesus, will cease, and spiritual harmony reign. The lightnings and thunderbolts of error may burst and flash till the cloud is cleared and the tumult dies away in the distance. Then the raindrops of divinity refresh the earth. As St. Paul says: "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God" (of Spirit).
The chief stones in the temple of Christian Science are to be found in the following postulates: that Life is God, good, and not evil; that Soul is sinless, not to be found in the body; that Spirit is not, and cannot be, materialized; that Life is not subject to death; that the spiritual real man has no birth, no material life, and no death.
The eternal Truth destroys what mortals seem to have learned from error, and man's real existence as a child of God comes to light. Truth demonstrated is eternal life.

In Christian Science, a denial of Truth is fatal, while a just acknowledgment of Truth and of what it has done for us is an effectual help. If pride, superstition, or any error prevents the honest recognition of benefits received, this will be a hindrance to the recovery of the sick and the success of the student.

Truth cannot be contaminated by error. The statement that Truth is real necessarily includes the correlated statement, that error, Truth's unlikeness, is unreal.
The suppositional warfare between truth and error is only the mental conflict between the evidence of the spiritual senses and the testimony of the material senses, and this warfare between the Spirit and flesh will settle all questions through faith in and the understanding of divine Love.

Some people yield slowly to the touch of Truth. Few yield without a struggle, and many are reluctant to acknowledge that they have yielded; but unless this admission is made, evil will boast itself above good. The Christian Scientist has enlisted to lessen evil, disease, and death; and he will overcome them by understanding their nothingness and the allness of God, or good. Sickness to him is no less a temptation than is sin, and he heals them both by understanding God's power over them. The Christian Scientist knows that they are errors of belief, which Truth can and will destroy.

No impossible thing do I ask when urging the claims of Christian Science; but because this teaching is in advance of the age, we should not deny our need of its spiritual unfoldment. Mankind will improve through Science and Christianity. The necessity for uplifting the race is father to the fact that Mind can do it; for Mind can impart purity instead of impurity, strength instead of weakness, and health instead of disease. Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it "every whit whole."
