“मेरा प्राण प्रभु की बड़ाई करता है। और मेरी आत्मा मेरे उद्धार करने वाले परमेश्वर से आनन्दित हुई।”
“My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”
8. हे देश देश के लोगो, हमारे परमेश्वर को धन्य कहो, और उसकी स्तुति में राग उठाओ,
9. जो हम को जीवित रखता है; और हमारे पांव को टलने नहीं देता।
16. हे परमेश्वर के सब डरवैयों आकर सुनो, मैं बताऊंगा कि उसने मेरे लिये क्या क्या किया है।
17. मैं ने उसको पुकारा, और उसी का गुणानुवाद मुझ से हुआ।
18. यदि मैं मन में अनर्थ बात सोचता तो प्रभु मेरी न सुनता।
19. परन्तु परमेश्वर ने तो सुना है; उसने मेरी प्रार्थना की ओर ध्यान दिया है॥
20. धन्य है परमेश्वर, जिसने न तो मेरी प्रार्थना अनसुनी की, और न मुझ से अपनी करूणा दूर कर दी है!
8. O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
9. Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
16. Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
19. But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
पाठ उपदेश
1 अहो सब प्यासे लोगो, पानी के पास आओ; और जिनके पास रूपया न हो, तुम भी आकर मोल लो और खाओ! दाखमधु और दूध बिन रूपए और बिना दाम ही आकर ले लो।
3 कान लगाओ, और मेरे पास आओ; सुनो, तब तुम जीवित रहोगे; और मैं तुम्हारे साथ सदा की वाचा बान्धूंगा अर्थात दाऊद पर की अटल करूणा की वाचा।
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
20 हम यहोवा का आसरा देखते आए हैं; वह हमारा सहायक और हमारी ढाल ठहरा है।
21 हमारा हृदय उसके कारण आनन्दित होगा, क्योंकि हम ने उसके पवित्र नाम का भरोसा रखा है।
22 हे यहोवा जैसी तुझ पर हमारी आशा है, वैसी ही तेरी करूणा भी हम पर हो॥
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
1 फिर यीशु पवित्रआत्मा से भरा हुआ, यरदन से लैटा; और चालीस दिन तक आत्मा के सिखाने से जंगल में फिरता रहा; और शैतान उस की परीक्षा करता रहा।
33 आराधनालय में एक मनुष्य था, जिस में अशुद्ध आत्मा थी।
34 वह ऊंचे शब्द से चिल्ला उठा, हे यीशु नासरी, हमें तुझ से क्या काम? क्या तू हमें नाश करने आया है? मैं तुझे जानता हूं तू कौन है? तू परमेश्वर का पवित्र जन है।
35 यीशु ने उसे डांटकर कहा, चुप रह: और उस में से निकल जा: तब दुष्टात्मा उसे बीच में पटककर बिना हानि पहुंचाए उस में से निकल गई।
36 इस पर सब को अचम्भा हुआ, और वे आपस में बातें करके कहने लगे, यह कैसा वचन है कि वह अधिकार और सामर्थ के साथ अशुद्ध आत्माओं को आज्ञा देता है, और वे निकल जाती
37 सो चारों ओर हर जगह उस की धूम मच गई॥
1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan,
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
19 इस पर यीशु ने उन से कहा, मैं तुम से सच सच कहता हूं, पुत्र आप से कुछ नहीं कर सकता, केवल वह जो पिता को करते देखता है, क्योंकि जिन जिन कामों को वह करता है उन्हें पुत्र भी उसी रीति से करता है।
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
1 इतने में जब हजारों की भीड़ लग गई, यहां तक कि एक दूसरे पर गिरे पड़ते थे।

17 तब वह अपने मन में विचार करने लगा, कि मैं क्या करूं, क्योंकि मेरे यहां जगह नहीं, जहां अपनी उपज इत्यादि रखूं।
18 और उस ने कहा; मैं यह करूंगा: मैं अपनी बखारियां तोड़ कर उन से बड़ी बनाऊंगा;
19 और वहां अपना सब अन्न और संपत्ति रखूंगा: और अपने प्राण से कहूंगा, कि प्राण, तेरे पास बहुत वर्षों के लिये बहुत संपत्ति रखी है; चैन कर, खा, पी, सुख से रह।
20 परन्तु परमेश्वर ने उस से कहा; हे मूर्ख, इसी रात तेरा प्राण तुझ से ले लिया जाएगा: तब जो कुछ तू ने इकट्ठा किया है, वह किस का होगा?
21 ऐसा ही वह मनुष्य भी है जो अपने लिये धन बटोरता है, परन्तु परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धनी नहीं॥
22 फिर उस ने अपने चेलों से कहा; इसलिये मैं तुम से कहता हूं, अपने प्राण की चिन्ता न करो, कि हम क्या खाएंगे; न अपने शरीर की कि क्या पहिनेंगे।
23 क्योंकि भोजन से प्राण, और वस्त्र से शरीर बढ़कर है।
24 कौवों पर ध्यान दो; वे न बोते हैं, न काटते; न उन के भण्डार और न खत्ता होता है; तौभी परमेश्वर उन्हें पालता है; तुम्हारा मूल्य पक्षियों से कहीं अधिक है।
28 इसलिये यदि परमेश्वर मैदान की घास को जो आज है, और कल भाड़ में झोंकी जाएगी, ऐसा पहिनाता है; तो हे अल्प विश्वासियों, वह तुम्हें क्यों न पहिनाएगा?
29 और तुम इस बात की खोज में न रहो, कि क्या खाएंगे और क्या पीएंगे, और न सन्देह करो।
30 क्योंकि संसार की जातियां इन सब वस्तुओं की खोज में रहती हैं: और तुम्हारा पिता जानता है, कि तुम्हें इन वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता है।
31 परन्तु उसके राज्य की खोज में रहो, तो ये वस्तुऐं भी तुम्हें मिल जाएंगी।
1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another,
13 …one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
24 तब यीशु ने अपने चेलों से कहा; यदि कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, तो अपने आप का इन्कार करे और अपना क्रूस उठाए, और मेरे पीछे हो ले।
25 क्योंकि जो कोई अपना प्राण बचाना चाहे, वह उसे खोएगा; और जो कोई मेरे लिये अपना प्राण खोएगा, वह उसे पाएगा।
26 यदि मनुष्य सारे जगत को प्राप्त करे, और अपने प्राण की हानि उठाए, तो उसे क्या लाभ होगा? या मनुष्य अपने प्राण के बदले में क्या देगा?
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
28 जो शरीर को घात करते हैं, पर आत्मा को घात नहीं कर सकते, उन से मत डरना; पर उसी से डरो, जो आत्मा और शरीर दोनों को नरक में नाश कर सकता है।
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
6 जिस उपवास से मैं प्रसन्न होता हूं, वह क्या यह नहीं, कि, अन्याय से बनाए हुए दासों, और अन्धेर सहने वालों का जुआ तोड़कर उन को छुड़ा लेना, और, सब जुओं को टूकड़े टूकड़े कर देना?
8 तब तेरा प्रकाश पौ फटने की नाईं चमकेगा, और तू शीघ्र चंगा हो जाएगा; तेरा धर्म तेरे आगे आगे चलेगा, यहोवा का तेज तेरे पीछे रक्षा करते चलेगा।
9 तब तू पुकारेगा और यहोवा उत्तर देगा; तू दोहाई देगा और वह कहेगा, मैं यहां हूं। यदि तू अन्धेर करना और उंगली मटकाना, और, दुष्ट बातें बोलना छोड़ दे,
10 उदारता से भूखे की सहायता करे और दीन दु:खियों को सन्तुष्ट करे, तब अन्धियारे में तेरा प्रकाश चमकेगा, और तेरा घोर अन्धकार दोपहर का सा उजियाला हो जाएगा।
11 और यहोवा तुझे लगातार लिए चलेगा, और काल के समय तुझे तृप्त और तेरी हड्डियों को हरी भरी करेगा; और तू सींची हुई बारी और ऐसे सोते के समान होगा जिसका जल कभी नहीं सूखता।
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
23 शान्ति का परमेश्वर आप ही तुम्हें पूरी रीति से पवित्र करे; और तुम्हारी आत्मा और प्राण और देह हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के आने तक पूरे पूरे और निर्दोष सुरक्षित रहें।
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Soul, or Spirit, is God, unchangeable and eternal; and man coexists with and reflects Soul, God, for man is God's image.

Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul. The Indians caught some glimpses of the underlying reality, when they called a certain beautiful lake "the smile of the Great Spirit." Separated from man, who expresses Soul, Spirit would be a nonentity; man, divorced from Spirit, would lose his entity. But there is, there can be, no such division, for man is coexistent with God.

The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things. Man was not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher law of Mind.

We shall obey and adore in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, warring no more over the corporeality, but rejoicing in the affluence of our God. Religion will then be of the heart and not of the head.
We worship spiritually, only as we cease to worship materially. Spiritual devoutness is the soul of Christianity.

Christian Scientists must live under the constant pressure of the apostolic command to come out from the material world and be separate.
Students of Christian Science, who start with its letter and think to succeed without the spirit, will either make shipwreck of their faith or be turned sadly awry. They must not only seek, but strive, to enter the narrow path of Life, for "wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." Man walks in the direction towards which he looks, and where his treasure is, there will his heart be also. If our hopes and affections are spiritual, they come from above, not from beneath, and they bear as of old the fruits of the Spirit.

We must destroy the false belief that life and intelligence are in matter, and plant ourselves upon what is pure and perfect. Paul said, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter instead of in Spirit.

Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul. Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man. We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense. The senses confer no real enjoyment.
The good in human affections must have ascendency over the evil and the spiritual over the animal, or happiness will never be won.

The so-called laws of matter and of medical science have never made mortals whole, harmonious, and immortal. Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.

Knowing that Soul and its attributes were forever manifested through man, the Master healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, feet to the lame, thus bringing to light the scientific action of the divine Mind on human minds and bodies and giving a better understanding of Soul and salvation.

Jesus never taught that drugs, food, air, and exercise could make a man healthy, or that they could destroy human life; nor did he illustrate these errors by his practice. He referred man's harmony to Mind, not to matter, and never tried to make of none effect the sentence of God, which sealed God's condemnation of sin, sickness, and death.

"Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell," said Jesus. A careful study of this text shows that here the word soul means a false sense or material consciousness. The command was a warning to beware, not of Rome, Satan, nor of God, but of sin. Sickness, sin, and death are not concomitants of Life or Truth. No law supports them. They have no relation to God wherewith to establish their power.

Life is the law of Soul, even the law of the spirit of Truth, and Soul is never without its representative. Man's individual being can no more die nor disappear in unconsciousness than can Soul, for both are immortal. If man believes in death now, he must disbelieve in it when learning that there is no reality in death, since the truth of being is deathless. Christian Science reverses the seeming relation of Soul and body and makes body tributary to Mind. Thus it is with man, who is but the humble servant of the restful Mind, though it seems otherwise to finite sense. But we shall never understand this while we admit that soul is in body or mind in matter, and that man is included in non-intelligence.

It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.
