5. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
6. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
7. Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
8. Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
11. Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
13. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
पाठ उपदेश
1 आदि में वचन था, और वचन परमेश्वर के साथ था, और वचन परमेश्वर था।
2 यही आदि में परमेश्वर के साथ था।
3 सब कुछ उसी के द्वारा उत्पन्न हुआ और जो कुछ उत्पन्न हुआ है, उस में से कोई भी वस्तु उसके बिना उत्पन्न न हुई।
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
1 बहुत दिनों के बाद, तीसरे वर्ष में यहोवा का यह वचन एलिय्याह के पास पहुंचा, कि जा कर अपने अपप को अहाब को दिखा, और मैं भूमि पर मेंह बरसा दूंगा।
17 एलिय्याह को देखते ही अहाब ने कहा, हे इस्राएल के सताने वाले क्या तू ही है?
18 उसने कहा, मैं ने इस्राएल को कष्ट नहीं दिया, परन्तु तू ही ने और तेरे पिता के घराने ने दिया है; क्योंकि तुम यहोवा की आज्ञाओं को टाल कर बाल देवताओं की उपासना करने लगे।
19 अब दूत भेज कर सारे इस्राएल को और बाल के साढ़े चार सौ नबियों और अशेरा के चार सौ नबियों को जो ईज़ेबेल की मेज पर खाते हैं, मेरे पास कर्म्मेल पर्वत पर इकट्ठा कर ले।
20 तब अहाब ने सारे इस्राएलियों को बुला भेजा और नबियों को कर्म्मेल पर्वत पर इकट्ठा किया।
21 और एलिय्याह सब लोगों के पास आकर कहने लगा, तुम कब तक दो विचारों में लटके रहोगे, यदि यहोवा परमेश्वर हो, तो उसके पीछे हो लो; और यदि बाल हो, तो उसके पीछे हो लो। लोगों ने उसके उत्तर में एक भी बात न कही।
22 तब एलिय्याह ने लोगों से कहा, यहोवा के नबियों में से केवल मैं ही रह गया हूँ; और बाल के नबी साढ़े चार सौ मनुष्य हैं।
30 तब एलिय्याह ने सब लोगों से कहा, मेरे निकट आओ; और सब लोग उसके निकट आए। तब उसने यहोवा की वेदी की जो गिराई गई थी मरम्मत की।
31 फिर एलिय्याह ने याकूब के पुत्रों की गिनती के अनुसार जिसके पास यहोवा का यह वचन आया था,
32 कि तेरा नाम इस्राएल होगा, बारह पत्थर छांटे, और उन पत्थरों से यहोवा के नाम की एक वेदी बनाई; और उसके चारों ओर इतना बड़ा एक गड़हा खोद दिया, कि उस में दो सआ बीज समा सके।
33 तब उसने वेदी पर लकड़ी को सजाया, और बछड़े को टुकड़े टुकड़े काटकर लकड़ी पर धर दिया, और कहा, चार घड़े पानी भर के होमबलि, पशु और लकड़ी पर उण्डेल दो।
34 तब उसने कहा, दूसरी बार वैसा ही करो; तब लोगों ने दूसरी बार वैसा ही किया। फिर उसने कहा, तीसरी बार करो; तब लोगों ने तीसरी बार भी वैसा ही किया।
35 और जल वेदी के चारों ओर बह गया, और गड़हे को भी उसने जल से भर दिया।
36 फिर भेंट चढ़ाने के समय एलिय्याह नबी समीप जा कर कहने लगा, हे इब्राहीम, इसहाक और इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा! आज यह प्रगट कर कि इस्राएल में तू ही परमेश्वर है, और मैं तेरा दास हूँ, और मैं ने ये सब काम तुझ से वचन पाकर किए हैं।
37 हे यहावा! मेरी सुन, मेरी सुन, कि ये लोग जान लें कि हे यहोवा, तू ही परमेश्वर है, और तू ही उनका मन लौटा लेता है।
38 तब यहोवा की आग आकाश से प्रगट हुई और होमबलि को लकड़ी और पत्थरों और धूलि समेत भस्म कर दिया, और गड़हे में का जल भी सुखा दिया।
39 यह देख सब लोग मुंह के बल गिरकर बोल उठे, यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है, यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है;
40 एलिय्याह ने उन से कहा, बाल के नबियों को पकड़ लो, उन में से एक भी छूटने न पाए; तब उन्होंने उन को पकड़ लिया, और एलिय्याह ने उन्हें नीचे किशोन के नाले में ले जा कर मार डाला।
1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab;
17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table.
20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.
21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.
31 And Elijah took twelve stones,
32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar,
33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.
34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.
40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
2 तब ईज़ेबेल ने एलिय्याह के पास एक दूत के द्वारा कहला भेजा, कि यदि मैं कल इसी समय तक तेरा प्राण उनका सा न कर डालूं तो देवता मेरे साथ वैसा ही वरन उस से भी अधिक करें।
3 यह देख एलिय्याह अपना प्राण ले कर भागा, और यहूदा के बेर्शेबा को पहुंच कर अपने सेवक को वहीं छोड़ दिया।
4 ... और आया और वह एक झाऊ के पेड़ के तले बैठ गया, वहां उसने यह कह कर अपनी मृत्यु मांगी कि हे यहोवा बस है, अब मेरा प्राण ले ले, क्योंकि मैं अपने पुरखाओं से अच्छा नहीं हूँ।
5 चह झाऊ के पेड़ तले लेटकर सो गया और देखो एक दूत ने उसे छूकर कहा, उठ कर खा।
6 उसने दृष्टि करके क्या देखा कि मेरे सिरहाने पत्थरों पर पकी हुई एक रोटी, और एक सुराही पानी धरा है; तब उसने खाया और पिया और फिर लेट गया।
7 दूसरी बार यहोवा का दूत आया और उसे छूकर कहा, उठ कर खा, क्योंकि तुझे बहुत भारी यात्रा करनी है।
8 तब उसने उठ कर खाया पिया; और उसी भोजन से बल पाकर चालीस दिन रात चलते चलते परमेश्वर के पर्वत होरेब को पहुंचा।
9 वहां वह एक गुफा में जा कर टिका और यहोवा का यह वचन उसके पास पहुंचा, कि हे एलिय्याह तेरा यहां क्या काम?
10 उन ने उत्तर दिया सेनाओं के परमेश्वर यहोवा के निमित्त मुझे बड़ी जलन हुई है, क्योकि इस्राएलियों ने तेरी वाचा टाल दी, तेरी वेदियों को गिरा दिया, और तेरे नबियों को तलवार से घात किया है, और मैं ही अकेला रह गया हूँ; और वे मेरे प्राणों के भी खोजी हैं।
11 उसने कहा, निकलकर यहोवा के सम्मुख पर्वत पर खड़ा हो। और यहोवा पास से हो कर चला, और यहोवा के साम्हने एक बड़ी प्रचण्ड आन्धी से पहाड़ फटने और चट्टानें टूटने लगीं, तौभी यहोवा उस आन्धी में न था; फिर आन्धी के बाद भूंईडोल हूआ, तौभी यहोवा उस भूंईडोल में न था।
12 फिर भूंईडोल के बाद आग दिखाई दी, तौभी यहोवा उस आग में न था; फिर आग के बाद एक दबा हुआ धीमा शब्द सुनाईं दिया।
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba,
4 … and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
10 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
3 निश्चय जानो, कि यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है। उसी ने हम को बनाया, और हम उसी के हैं; हम उसकी प्रजा, और उसकी चराई की भेड़ें हैं॥
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
28 और हम जानते हैं, कि जो लोग परमेश्वर से प्रेम रखते हैं, उन के लिये सब बातें मिलकर भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करती है; अर्थात उन्हीं के लिये जो उस की इच्छा के अनुसार बुलाए हुए हैं।
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
24 सेनाओं के यहोवा ने यह शपथ खाई है, नि: सन्देह जैसा मैं ने ठाना है, वैसा ही हो जाएगा, और जैसी मैं ने युक्ति की है, वैसी ही पूरी होगी,
27 क्योंकि सेनाओं के यहोवा ने युक्ति की है और कौन उसका टाल सकता है? उसका हाथ बढ़ाया गया है, उसे कौन रोक सकता है?
24 The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
13 देख, पहाड़ों का बनाने वाला और पवन का सिरजने वाला, और मनुष्य को उसके मन का विचार बताने वाला और भोर को अन्धकार करने वाला, और जो पृथ्वी के ऊंचे स्थानों पर चलने वाला है, उसी का नाम सेनाओं का परमेश्वर यहोवा है॥
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
आरंभ में परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को अपने, परमेश्वर के स्वरूप में बनाया;
In the beginning God created man in His, God's, image;
रचनाकार। आत्मा; मन; बुद्धि; सभी के दैवीय सिद्धांत जो वास्तविक और अच्छे हैं; आत्म-अस्तित्व जीवन, सत्य और प्रेम; जो परिपूर्ण और शाश्वत है; पदार्थ और बुराई के विपरीत, जिसका कोई सिद्धांत नहीं है; ईश्वर, जिसने वह सब बनाया था जो स्वयं एक परमाणु या एक तत्व नहीं बना सकता था।
Creator. Spirit; Mind; intelligence; the animating divine Principle of all that is real and good; self-existent Life, Truth, and Love; that which is perfect and eternal; the opposite of matter and evil, which have no Principle; God, who made all that was made and could not create an atom or an element the opposite of Himself.

Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things. We tread on forces. Withdraw them, and creation must collapse. Human knowledge calls them forces of matter; but divine Science declares that they belong wholly to divine Mind, are inherent in this Mind, and so restores them to their rightful home and classification.

Before human knowledge dipped to its depths into a false sense of things, — into belief in material origins which discard the one Mind and true source of being, — it is possible that the impressions from Truth were as distinct as sound, and that they came as sound to the primitive prophets.

The five physical senses are the avenues and instruments of human error, and they correspond with error. These senses indicate the common human belief, that life, substance, and intelligence are a unison of matter with Spirit. This is pantheism, and carries within itself the seeds of all error.

In old Scriptural pictures we see a serpent coiled around the tree of knowledge and speaking to Adam and Eve. This represents the serpent in the act of commending to our first parents the knowledge of good and evil, a knowledge gained from matter, or evil, instead of from Spirit.

Life and being are of God. In Christian Science, man can do no harm, for scientific thoughts are true thoughts, passing from God to man.

Not materially but spiritually we know Him as divine Mind, as Life, Truth, and Love. We shall obey and adore in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature and love Him understandingly, warring no more over the corporeality, but rejoicing in the affluence of our God. Religion will then be of the heart and not of the head. Mankind will no longer be tyrannical and proscriptive from lack of love, — straining out gnats and swallowing camels.
We worship spiritually, only as we cease to worship materially. Spiritual devoutness is the soul of Christianity.
हम क्रिश्चियन साइंस में सीखते हैं कि नश्वर मन या शरीर के सभी अंतर्ज्ञान भ्रम हैं, न तो वास्तविकता और न ही पहचान के बावजूद वास्तविक और समान प्रतीत होते हैं।

We learn in Christian Science that all inharmony of mortal mind or body is illusion, possessing neither reality nor identity though seeming to be real and identical.
The Science of Mind disposes of all evil. Truth, God, is not the father of error.

The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death.

The spiritual fact and the material belief of things are contradictions; but the spiritual is true, and therefore the material must be untrue. Life is not in matter. Therefore it cannot be said to pass out of matter. Matter and death are mortal illusions. Spirit and all things spiritual are the real and eternal.
Man is not the offspring of flesh, but of Spirit, — of Life, not of matter. Because Life is God, Life must be eternal, self-existent. Life is the everlasting I am, the Being who was and is and shall be, whom nothing can erase.

To mortal mind, the universe is liquid, solid, and aëriform. Spiritually interpreted, rocks and mountains stand for solid and grand ideas. Animals and mortals metaphorically present the gradation of mortal thought, rising in the scale of intelligence, taking form in masculine, feminine, or neuter gender. The fowls, which fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven, correspond to aspirations soaring beyond and above corporeality to the understanding of the incorporeal and divine Principle, Love.

Mind is the grand creator, and there can be no power except that which is derived from Mind. If Mind was first chronologically, is first potentially, and must be first eternally, then give to Mind the glory, honor, dominion, and power everlastingly due its holy name.

Erring power is a material belief, a blind miscalled force, the offspring of will and not of wisdom, of the mortal mind and not of the immortal. It is the headlong cataract, the devouring flame, the tempest's breath. It is lightning and hurricane, all that is selfish, wicked, dishonest, and impure.
Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds the "wind in His fists;" and this teaching accords with Science and harmony. In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. Your influence for good depends upon the weight you throw into the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise.
