“तेरी व्यवस्था से प्रीति रखने वालों को बड़ी शान्ति होती है; और उन को कुछ ठोकर नहीं लगती।”
“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”
1. परमेश्वर हमारा शरणस्थान और बल है, संकट में अति सहज से मिलने वाला सहायक।
2. इस कारण हम को कोई भय नहीं चाहे पृथ्वी उलट जाए, और पहाड़ समुद्र के बीच में डाल दिए जाएं;
3. चाहे समुद्र गरजे और फेन उठाए, और पहाड़ उसकी बाढ़ से कांप उठें॥
5. परमेश्वर उस नगर के बीच में है, वह कभी टलने का नहीं; पौ फटते ही परमेश्वर उसकी सहायता करता है।
8. आओ, यहोवा के महाकर्म देखो, कि उसने पृथ्वी पर कैसा कैसा उजाड़ किया है।
9. वह पृथ्वी की छोर तक लड़ाइयों को मिटाता है; वह धनुष को तोड़ता, और भाले को दो टुकड़े कर डालता है, और रथों को आग में झोंक देता है!
10. चुप हो जाओ, और जान लो, कि मैं ही परमेश्वर हूं। मैं जातियों में महान हूं, मैं पृथ्वी भर में महान हूं!
1. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
5. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
8. Come, behold the works of the Lord.
9. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
पाठ उपदेश
1 आमोस के पुत्र यशायाह का वचन, जो उसने यहूदा और यरूशलेम के विषय में दर्शन में पाया॥
2 अन्त के दिनों में ऐसा होगा कि यहोवा के भवन का पर्वत सब पहाड़ों पर दृढ़ किया जाएगा, और सब पहाडिय़ों से अधिक ऊंचा किया जाएगा; और हर जाति के लागे धारा की नाईं उसकी ओर चलेंगें।
3 और बहुत देशों के लोग आएंगे, और आपस में कहेंगे: आओ, हम यहोवा के पर्वत पर चढ़कर, याकूब के परमेश्वर के भवन में जाएं; तब वह हम को अपने मार्ग सिखाएगा, और हम उसके पथों पर चलेंगे। क्योंकि यहोवा की व्यवस्था सिय्योन से, और उसका वचन यरूशलेम से निकलेगा।
4 वह जाति जाति का न्याय करेगा, और देश देश के लोगों के झगड़ों को मिटाएगा; और वे अपनी तलवारें पीट कर हल के फाल और अपने भालों को हंसिया बनाएंगे; तब एक जाति दूसरी जाति के विरुद्ध फिर तलवार न चलाएगी, न लोग भविष्य में युद्ध की विद्या सीखेंगे॥

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
1 इसके बाद मोआबियों और अम्मोनियों ने और उनके साथ कई मूनियों ने युद्ध करने के लिये यहोशापात पर चढ़ाई की।
3 तब यहोशपात डर गया और यहोवा की खोज में लग गया, और पूरे यहूदा में उपवास का प्रचार करवाया।
4 सो यहूदी यहोवा से सहायता मांगने के लिये इकट्ठे हुए, वरन वे यहूदा के सब नगरों से यहोवा से भेंट करने को आए।
5 तब यहोशपात यहोवा के भवन में नये आंगन के साम्हने यहूदियों और यरूशलेमियों की मण्डली में खड़ा हो कर
6 यह कहने लगा, कि हे हमारे पितरों के परमेश्वर यहोवा! क्या तू स्वर्ग में परमेश्वर नहीं है? और क्या तू जाति जाति के सब राज्यों के ऊपर प्रभुता नहीं करता? और क्या तेरे हाथ में ऐसा बल और पराक्रम नहीं है कि तेरा साम्हना कोई नहीं कर सकता?
13 और सब यहूदी अपने अपने बाल-बच्चों, स्त्रिीयों और पुत्रों समेत यहोवा के सम्मुख खड़े रहे।
14 तब आसाप के वंश में से यहजीएल नाम एक लेवीय जो जकर्याह का पुत्र और बनायाह का पोता और मत्तन्याह के पुत्र यीएल का परपोता था, उस में मण्डली के बीच यहोवा का आत्मा समाया।
15 और वह कहने लगा, हे सब यहूदियो, हे यरूशलेम के रहनेवालो, हे राजा यहोशापात, तुम सब ध्यान दो; यहोवा तुम से यों कहता है, तुम इस बड़ी भीड़ से मत डरो और तुम्हारा मन कच्चा न हो; क्योंकि युद्ध तुम्हारा नहीं, परमेश्वर का है।
17 इस लड़ाई में तुम्हें लड़ना न होगा; हे यहूदा, और हे यरूशलेम, ठहरे रहना, और खड़े रह कर यहोवा की ओर से अपना बचाव देखना। मत डरो, और तुम्हारा मन कच्चा न हो; कल उनका साम्हना करने को चलना और यहोवा तुम्हारे साथ रहेगा।
18 तब यहोशापात भूमि की ओर मुंह कर के झुका और सब यहूदियों और यरूशलेम के निवासियों ने यहोवा के साम्हने गिर के यहोवा को दण्डवत किया।
20 बिहान को वे सबेरे उठ कर तकोआ के जंगल की ओर निकल गए; और चलते समय यहोशापात ने खड़े हो कर कहा, हे यहूदियो, हे यरूशलेम के निवासियो, मेरी सुनो, अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा पर विश्वास रखो, तब तुम स्थिर रहोगे; उसके नबियों की प्रतीत करो, तब तुम कृतार्थ हो जाओगे।
21 तब उसने प्रजा के साथ सम्मति कर के कितनों को ठहराया, जो कि पवित्रता से शोभायमान हो कर हथियारबन्दों के आगे आगे चलते हुए यहोवा के गीत गाएं, और यह कहते हुए उसकी स्तुति करें, कि यहोवा का धन्यवाद करो, क्योंकि उसकी करुणा सदा की है।
22 जिस समय वे गाकर स्तुति करने लगे, उसी समय यहोवा ने अम्मोनियों, मोआबियों और सेईर के पहाड़ी देश के लोगों पर जो यहूदा के विरुद्ध आ रहे थे, घातकों को बैठा दिया और वे मारे गए।
27 तब वे, अर्थात यहूदा और यरूशलेम नगर के सब पुरुष और उनके आगे आगे यहोशापात, आनन्द के साथ यरूशलेम लौटे क्योंकि यहोवा ने उन्हें शत्रुओं पर आनन्दित किया था।
28 सो वे सारंगियां, वीणाएं और तुरहियां बजाते हुए यरूशलेम में यहोवा के भवन को आए।
29 और जब देश देश के सब राज्यों के लोगों ने सुना कि इस्राएल के शत्रुओं से यहोवा लड़ा, तब उनके मन में परमेश्वर का डर समा गया।
30 और यहोशापात के राज्य को चैन मिला, क्योंकि उसके परमेश्वर ने उसको चारों ओर से विश्राम दिया।
1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,
6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
13 And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah,
15 …said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
8 परन्तु मैं तो ईश्वर ही को खोजता रहूंगा और अपना मुक़द्दमा परमेश्वर पर छोड़ दूंगा।
9 वह तो एसे बड़े काम करता है जिनकी थाह नहीं लगती, और इतने आश्चर्यकर्म करता है, जो गिने नहीं जाते।
12 वह तो धूर्त्त लोगों की कल्पनाएं व्यर्थ कर देता है, और उनके हाथों से कुछ भी बन नहीं पड़ता।
13 वह बुद्धिमानों को उनकी धूर्त्तता ही में फंसाता है; और कुटिल लोगों की युक्ति दूर की जाती है।
19 वह तुझे छ: विपत्तियों से छुड़ाएगा; वरन सात से भी तेरी कुछ हानि न होने पाएगी।
20 अकाल में वह तुझे मुत्यु से, और युद्ध में तलवार की धार से बचा लेगा।
21 तू वचनरूपी कोड़े से बचा रहेगा और जब विनाश आए, तब भी तुझे भय न होगा।
22 तू उजाड़ और अकाल के दिनों में हँसमुख रहेगा, और तुझे बनैले जन्तुओं से डर न लगेगा।
23 वरन मैदान के पत्थर भी तुझ से वाचा बान्धे रहेंगे, और वनपशु तुझ से मेल रखेंगे।
24 और तुझे निश्चय होगा, कि तेरा डेरा कुशल से है।
8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace;
1 अब मैं सब से पहिले यह उपदेश देता हूं, कि बिनती, और प्रार्थना, और निवेदन, और धन्यवाद, सब मनुष्यों के लिये किए जाएं।
2 राजाओं और सब ऊंचे पद वालों के निमित्त इसलिये कि हम विश्राम और चैन के साथ सारी भक्ति और गम्भीरता से जीवन बिताएं।
3 यह हमारे उद्धारकर्ता परमेश्वर को अच्छा लगता, और भाता भी है।
4 वह यह चाहता है, कि सब मनुष्यों का उद्धार हो; और वे सत्य को भली भांति पहिचान लें।
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
9 ...क्योंकि पृथ्वी यहोवा के ज्ञान से ऐसी भर जाएगी जैसा जल समुद्र में भरा रहता है॥
9 …for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
जब अस्तित्व को समझा जाता है, तो जीवन को न तो भौतिक और न ही सीमित, बल्कि अनंत के रूप में पहचाना जाएगा, - भगवान के रूप में, सार्वभौमिक अच्छा।
When being is understood, Life will be recognized as neither material nor finite, but as infinite, — as God, universal good;

Eternal Truth is changing the universe. As mortals drop off their mental swaddling-clothes, thought expands into expression. "Let there be light," is the perpetual demand of Truth and Love, changing chaos into order and discord into the music of the spheres.

God creates and governs the universe, including man. The universe is filled with spiritual ideas, which He evolves, and they are obedient to the Mind that makes them. Mortal mind would transform the spiritual into the material, and then recover man's original self in order to escape from the mortality of this error. Mortals are not like immortals, created in God's own image; but infinite Spirit being all, mortal consciousness will at last yield to the scientific fact and disappear, and the real sense of being, perfect and forever intact, will appear.

Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, the life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind.
The world would collapse without Mind, without the intelligence which holds the winds in its grasp. Neither philosophy nor skepticism can hinder the march of the Science which reveals the supremacy of Mind.
The compounded minerals or aggregated substances composing the earth, the relations which constituent masses hold to each other, the magnitudes, distances, and revolutions of the celestial bodies, are of no real importance, when we remember that they all must give place to the spiritual fact by the translation of man and the universe back into Spirit. In proportion as this is done, man and the universe will be found harmonious and eternal.
Material substances or mundane formations, astronomical calculations, and all the paraphernalia of speculative theories, based on the hypothesis of material law or life and intelligence resident in matter, will ultimately vanish, swallowed up in the infinite calculus of Spirit.

The material so-called gases and forces are counterfeits of the spiritual forces of divine Mind, whose potency is Truth, whose attraction is Love, whose adhesion and cohesion are Life, perpetuating the eternal facts of being.
There is no vapid fury of mortal mind — expressed in earthquake, wind, wave, lightning, fire, bestial ferocity — and this so-called mind is self-destroyed. The manifestations of evil, which counterfeit divine justice, are called in the Scriptures, "The anger of the Lord." In reality, they show the self-destruction of error or matter and point to matter's opposite, the strength and permanency of Spirit. Christian Science brings to light Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil.

We lose the high signification of omnipotence, when after admitting that God, or good, is omnipresent and has all-power, we still believe there is another power, named evil. This belief that there is more than one mind is as pernicious to divine theology as are ancient mythology and pagan idolatry. With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science.

Having one God, one Mind, unfolds the power that heals the sick, and fulfils these sayings of Scripture, "I am the Lord that healeth thee," and "I have found a ransom." When the divine precepts are understood, they unfold the foundation of fellowship, in which one mind is not at war with another, but all have one Spirit, God, one intelligent source, in accordance with the Scriptural command: "Let this Mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.

The history of our country, like all history, illustrates the might of Mind, and shows human power to be proportionate to its embodiment of right thinking. A few immortal sentences, breathing the omnipotence of divine justice, have been potent to break despotic fetters and abolish the whipping-post and slave market; but oppression neither went down in blood, nor did the breath of freedom come from the cannon's mouth. Love is the liberator.
