“प्रभु, आप मुझसे क्या करवाना चाहते हैं?”
“Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”
1. सोहे पवित्र भाइयों तुम जो स्वर्गीय बुलाहट में भागी हो, उस प्रेरित और महायाजक यीशु पर जिसे हम अंगीकार करते हैं ध्यान करो।
2. जो अपने नियुक्त करने वाले के लिये विश्वास योग्य था, जैसा मूसा भी उसके सारे घर में था।
4. क्योंकि हर एक घर का कोई न कोई बनाने वाला होता है, पर जिस ने सब कुछ बनाया वह परमेश्वर है।
5. मूसा तो उसके सारे घर में सेवक की नाईं विश्वास योग्य रहा, कि जिन बातों का वर्णन होने वाला था, उन की गवाही दे।
6. पर मसीह पुत्र की नाईं उसके घर का अधिकारी है, और उसका घर हम हैं, यदि हम साहस पर, और अपनी आशा के घमण्ड पर अन्त तक दृढ़ता से स्थिर रहें।
7. सो कि यदि आज तुम उसका शब्द सुनो।
8. तो अपने मन को कठोर न करो।
14. क्योंकि हम मसीह के भागी हुए हैं, यदि हम अपने प्रथम भरोसे पर अन्त तक दृढ़ता से स्थिर रहें।
1. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2. Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
4. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6. But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8. Harden not your hearts,
14. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
पाठ उपदेश
1 हेस्वर्ग में विराजमान मैं अपनी आंखें तेरी ओर लगाता हूं!
2 देख, जैसे दासों की आंखें अपने स्वामियों के हाथ की ओर, और जैसे दासियों की आंखें अपनी स्वामिनी के हाथ की ओर लगी रहती है, वैसे ही हमारी आंखें हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा की ओर उस समय तक लगी रहेंगी, जब तक वह हम पर अनुग्रह न करे॥
1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
12 तब इस्त्राएली सीनै के जंगल में से निकलकर प्रस्थान करके निकले।
12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai;
1 फिर वे लोग बुड़बुड़ाने और यहोवा के सुनते बुरा कहने लगे; निदान यहोवा ने सुना, और उसका कोप भड़क उठा, और यहोवा की आग उनके मध्य जल उठी, और छावनी के एक किनारे से भस्म करने लगी।
2 तब मूसा के पास आकर चिल्लाए; और मूसा ने यहोवा से प्रार्थना की, तब वह आग बुझ गई,
4 फिर जो मिली-जुली भीड़ उनके साथ थी वह कामुकता करने लगी; और इस्त्राएली भी फिर रोने और कहने लगे, कि हमें मांस खाने को कौन देगा।
16 यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, इस्त्राएली पुरनियों में से सत्तर ऐसे पुरूष मेरे पास इकट्ठे कर।
17 तब मैं उतरकर तुझ से वहां बातें करूंगा।
18 और लोगों से कह, कल के लिये अपने को पवित्र करो, तब तुम्हें मांस खाने को मिलेगा।
21 फिर मूसा ने कहा, जिन लोगों के बीच मैं हूं उन में से छ: लाख तो प्यादे ही हैं; और तू ने कहा है, कि मैं उन्हें इतना मांस दूंगा, कि वे महीने भर उसे खाते ही रहेंगे।
22 क्या वे सब भेड़-बकरी गाय-बैल उनके लिये मारे जाएं, कि उन को मांस मिले?
23 यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा, क्या यहोवा का हाथ छोटा हो गया है? अब तू देखेगा, कि मेरा वचन जो मैं ने तुझ से कहा है वह पूरा होता है कि नहीं।
24 तब मूसा ने बाहर जा कर प्रजा के लोगों को यहोवा की बातें कह सुनाईं।
31 तब यहोवा की ओर से एक बड़ी आंधी आई, और वह समुद्र से बटेरें उड़ाके छावनी पर और उसके चारों ओर इतनी ले आईं।
1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched.
4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel,
17 And I will come down and talk with thee there:
18 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh:
21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.
22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them?
23 And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’s hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord,
31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp,
13 देखो, मेरा दास बुद्धि से काम करेगा, वह ऊंचा, महान और अति महान हो जाएगा।
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
1 फिर जाते हुए उस ने एक मनुष्य को देखा, जो जन्म का अन्धा था।
2 और उसके चेलों ने उस से पूछा, हे रब्बी, किस ने पाप किया था कि यह अन्धा जन्मा, इस मनुष्य ने, या उसके माता पिता ने?
3 यीशु ने उत्तर दिया, कि न तो इस ने पाप किया था, न इस के माता पिता ने: परन्तु यह इसलिये हुआ, कि परमेश्वर के काम उस में प्रगट हों।
4 जिस ने मुझे भेजा है; हमें उसके काम दिन ही दिन में करना अवश्य है: वह रात आनेवाली है जिस में कोई काम नहीं कर सकता।
5 जब तक मैं जगत में हूं, तब तक जगत की ज्योति हूं।
6 यह कहकर उस ने भूमि पर थूका और उस थूक से मिट्टी सानी, और वह मिट्टी उस अन्धे की आंखों पर लगाकर।
7 उस से कहा; जा शीलोह के कुण्ड में धो ले, (जिस का अर्थ भेजा हुआ है) सो उस ने जाकर धोया, और देखता हुआ लौट आया।
13 लोग उसे जो पहिले अन्धा था फरीसियों के पास ले गए।
14 जिस दिन यीशु ने मिट्टी सानकर उस की आंखे खोलीं थी वह सब्त का दिन था।
15 फिर फरीसियों ने भी उस से पूछा; तेरी आंखें किस रीति से खुल गईं? उस न उन से कहा; उस ने मेरी आंखो पर मिट्टी लगाई, फिर मैं ने धो लिया, और अब देखता हूं।
16 इस पर कई फरीसी कहने लगे; यह मनुष्य परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं, क्योंकि वह सब्त का दिन नहीं मानता। औरों ने कहा, पापी मनुष्य क्योंकर ऐसे चिन्ह दिखा सकता है? सो उन में फूट पड़ी।
30 उस ने उन को उत्तर दिया; यह तो अचम्भे की बात है कि तुम नहीं जानते की कहां का है तौभी उस ने मेरी आंखें खोल दीं।
31 हम जानते हैं कि परमेश्वर पापियों की नहीं सुनता परन्तु यदि कोई परमेश्वर का भक्त हो, और उस की इच्छा पर चलता है, तो वह उस की सुनता है।
32 जगत के आरम्भ से यह कभी सुनने में नहीं आया, कि किसी ने भी जन्म के अन्धे की आंखे खोली हों।
33 यदि यह व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की ओर से न होता, तो कुछ भी नहीं कर सकता।
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
1 अखमीरी रोटी का पर्व्व जो फसह कहलाता है, निकट था।
14 जब घड़ी पहुंची, तो वह प्रेरितों के साथ भोजन करने बैठा।
24 उन में यह वाद-विवाद भी हुआ; कि हम में से कौन बड़ा समझा जाता है
25 उस ने उन से कहा, अन्यजातियों के राजा उन पर प्रभुता करते हैं; और जो उन पर अधिकार रखते हैं, वे उपकारक कहलाते हैं।
26 परन्तु तुम ऐसे न होना; वरन जो तुम में बड़ा है, वह छोटे की नाईं और जो प्रधान है, वह सेवक की नाईं बने।
27 क्योंकि बड़ा कौन है; वह जो भोजन पर बैठा या वह जो सेवा करता है? क्या वह नहीं जो भोजन पर बैठा है? पर मैं तुम्हारे बीच में सेवक की नाईं हूं।
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
1 हर एक व्यक्ति प्रधान अधिकारियों के आधीन रहे; क्योंकि कोई अधिकार ऐसा नहीं, जो परमेश्वर की ओर स न हो; और जो अधिकार हैं, वे परमेश्वर के ठहराए हुए हैं।
3 क्योंकि हाकिम अच्छे काम के नहीं, परन्तु बुरे काम के लिये डर का कारण हैं; सो यदि तू हाकिम से निडर रहना चाहता है, तो अच्छा काम कर और उस की ओर से तेरी सराहना होगी।
4 क्योंकि वह तेरी भलाई के लिये परमेश्वर का सेवक है।
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
3 Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good.
17 इस कारण निर्बुद्धि न हो, पर ध्यान से समझो, कि प्रभु की इच्छा क्या है?
19 और आपस में भजन और स्तुतिगान और आत्मिक गीत गाया करो, और अपने अपने मन में प्रभु के साम्हने गाते और कीर्तन करते रहो।
20 और सदा सब बातों के लिये हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम से परमेश्वर पिता का धन्यवाद करते रहो।
21 और मसीह के भय से एक दूसरे के आधीन रहो॥
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
ईश्वर और मनुष्य के बीच मौजूद वैज्ञानिक एकता को जीवन-व्यवहार में बदल देना चाहिए, और परमेश्वर की इच्छा सार्वभौमिक रूप से पूरी होनी चाहिए।
The scientific unity which exists between God and man must be wrought out in life-practice, and God's will must be universally done.
वह, जो ईश्वर की इच्छा या ईश्वरीय विज्ञान की माँगों को जानता है और उनका पालन करता है, ईर्ष्या की शत्रुता को जन्म देता है; और जो परमेश्वर की आज्ञा मानने से इंकार करता है, वह प्रेम से ताड़ित होता है।
सभी भक्ति का तत्व ईश्वरीय प्रेम का प्रतिबिंब और प्रदर्शन है, बीमारी को ठीक करना और पाप को नष्ट करना है। हमारे मास्टर ने कहा, "यदि तुम मुझ से प्रेम रखते हो, तो मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानोगे।"

He, who knows God's will or the demands of divine Science and obeys them, incurs the hostility of envy; and he who refuses obedience to God, is chastened by Love.
The substance of all devotion is the reflection and demonstration of divine Love, healing sickness and destroying sin. Our Master said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
One's aim, a point beyond faith, should be to find the footsteps of Truth, the way to health and holiness. We should strive to reach the Horeb height where God is revealed; and the corner-stone of all spiritual building is purity. The baptism of Spirit, washing the body of all the impurities of flesh, signifies that the pure in heart see God and are approaching spiritual Life and its demonstration.
जब उसमें मानवीय तत्व परमात्मा से संघर्ष करता है, तो हमारे महान शिक्षक ने कहा: “मेरी नहीं लेकिन तेरी ही इच्छा पूरी हो।” — अर्थात्, मांस को नहीं, परन्तु आत्मा को मुझमें दर्शाया जाए यह आध्यात्मिक प्रेम की नई समझ है। यह मसीह, या सत्य के लिए सभी देता है। यह अपने दुश्मनों को आशीर्वाद देता है, बीमारों को चंगा करता है, त्रुटि को मिटाता है, अतिचारों और पापों से मृतकों को उठाता है, और हृदय में नम्र गरीबों को सुसमाचार सुनाता है.
When the human element in him struggled with the divine, our great Teacher said: "Not my will, but Thine, be done!" — that is, Let not the flesh, but the Spirit, be represented in me. This is the new understanding of spiritual Love. It gives all for Christ, or Truth. It blesses its enemies, heals the sick, casts out error, raises the dead from trespasses and sins, and preaches the gospel to the poor, the meek in heart.
मानव इच्छा-शक्ति विज्ञान नहीं है। मानव इच्छाशक्ति तथाकथित भौतिक इन्द्रियों से संबंधित है, और इसका प्रयोग निंदनीय है। बीमारों को स्वस्थ होने की इच्छा करना क्रिश्चियन साइंस का आध्यात्मिक अभ्यास नहीं है, बल्कि यह विशुद्ध पशु चुंबकत्व है। मानव की इच्छा-शक्ति मनुष्य के अधिकारों का उल्लंघन कर सकती है। यह निरंतर बुराई उत्पन्न करता है, तथा यथार्थवाद में इसका कोई योगदान नहीं है। सत्य, न कि भौतिक इच्छा, वह दिव्य शक्ति है जो रोग को कहती है, "शांति, शांत रहो।"
Human will-power is not Science. Human will belongs to the so-called material senses, and its use is to be condemned. Willing the sick to recover is not the metaphysical practice of Christian Science, but is sheer animal magnetism. Human will-power may infringe the rights of man. It produces evil continually, and is not a factor in the realism of being. Truth, and not corporeal will, is the divine power which says to disease, "Peace, be still."

Will-power is capable of all evil. It can never heal the sick, for it is the prayer of the unrighteous; while the exercise of the sentiments — hope, faith, love — is the prayer of the righteous. This prayer, governed by Science instead of the senses, heals the sick.

Many imagine that the phenomena of physical healing in Christian Science present only a phase of the action of the human mind, which action in some unexplained way results in the cure of disease. On the contrary, Christian Science rationally explains that all other pathological methods are the fruits of human faith in matter, — faith in the workings, not of Spirit, but of the fleshly mind which must yield to Science.
The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are the sign of Immanuel, or "God with us," — a divine influence ever present in human consciousness and repeating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime,
To preach deliverance to the captives [of sense],
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised.
हमारे स्वर्गीय पिता, दिव्य प्रेम, मांग करते हैं कि सभी पुरुषों को हमारे गुरु और प्रेरितों के उदाहरण का पालन करना चाहिए न कि केवल उनके व्यक्तित्व की पूजा करनी चाहिए। यह दुखद है कि वाक्यांश ईश्वरीय सेवा आम तौर पर दैनिक कर्मों के बजाय सार्वजनिक पूजा का मतलब है।
Our heavenly Father, divine Love, demands that all men should follow the example of our Master and his apostles and not merely worship his personality. It is sad that the phrase divine service has come so generally to mean public worship instead of daily deeds.

His consummate example was for the salvation of us all, but only through doing the works which he did and taught others to do. His purpose in healing was not alone to restore health, but to demonstrate his divine Principle. He was inspired by God, by Truth and Love, in all that he said and did. The motives of his persecutors were pride, envy, cruelty, and vengeance, inflicted on the physical Jesus, but aimed at the divine Principle, Love, which rebuked their sensuality.
Jesus was unselfish. His spirituality separated him from sensuousness, and caused the selfish materialist to hate him; but it was this spirituality which enabled Jesus to heal the sick, cast out evil, and raise the dead.
क्योंकि मानव निर्मित प्रणालियाँ इस बात पर जोर देती हैं कि मनुष्य बीमार और बेकार हो जाता है, पीड़ित होता है और मर जाता है, सभी ईश्वर के नियमों के अनुरूप होते हैं, तो क्या हम इस पर विश्वास करते हैं? क्या हम एक ऐसे अधिकारी पर विश्वास करते हैं जो पूर्णता से संबंधित भगवान की आध्यात्मिक आज्ञा को अस्वीकार करता है, — एक अधिकार जो यीशु को झूठा साबित हुआ? उसने पिता की इच्छा पूरी की। उन्होंने कहा कि बीमारी कानून कहा जाता है, लेकिन भगवान के कानून, मन के कानून के अनुसार की रक्षा में बीमारी चंगा।
Because man-made systems insist that man becomes sick and useless, suffers and dies, all in consonance with the laws of God, are we to believe it? Are we to believe an authority which denies God's spiritual command relating to perfection, — an authority which Jesus proved to be false? He did the will of the Father. He healed sickness in defiance of what is called material law, but in accordance with God's law, the law of Mind.

As Paul asked of the unfaithful in ancient days, so the rabbis of the present day ask concerning our healing and teaching, "Through breaking the law, dishonorest thou God?" We have the gospel, however, and our Master annulled material law by healing contrary to it. We propose to follow the Master's example. We should subordinate material law to spiritual law. Two essential points of Christian Science are, that neither Life nor man dies, and that God is not the author of sickness.

When will Jesus' professed followers learn to emulate him in all his ways and to imitate his mighty works? May the Christians of to-day take up the more practical import of that career! It is possible, — yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman, — to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Life, of health and holiness.
