“मैं इसलिये आया कि वे जीवन पाएं, और बहुतायत से पाएं।”— मसीह यीशु
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”— Christ Jesus
1 देखो, मैं अपने दूत को भेजता हूं, और वह मार्ग को मेरे आगे सुधारेगा, और प्रभु, जिसे तुम ढूंढ़ते हो, वह अचानक अपने मन्दिर में आ जाएगा; हां वाचा का वह दूत, जिसे तुम चाहते हो, सुनो, वह आता है, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।
2 परन्तु उसके आने के दिन की कौन सह सकेगा? और जब वह दिखाई दे, तब कौन खड़ा रह सकेगा? क्योंकि वह सोनार की आग और धोबी के साबुन के समान है।
3 वह रूपे का ताने वाला और शुद्ध करने वाला बनेगा, और लेवियों को शुद्ध करेगा और उन को सोने रूपे की नाईं निर्मल करेगा, तब वे यहोवा की भेंट धर्म से चढ़ाएंगे।
4 तब यहूदा और यरूशलेम की भेंट यहोवा को ऐसी भाएगी, जैसी पहिले दिनों में और प्राचीनकाल में भावती थी॥
5 तब मैं न्याय करने को तुम्हारे निकट आऊंगा॥
6 क्योंकि मैं यहोवा बदलता नहीं; इसी कारण, हे याकूब की सन्तान तुम नाश नहीं हुए।
2 परन्तु तुम्हारे लिये जो मेरे नाम का भय मानते हो, धर्म का सूर्य उदय होगा, और उसकी किरणों के द्वारा तुम चंगे हो जाओगे।
1. Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
2. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
3. And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.
4. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
5. And I will come near to you to judgment;
6. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
2. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings.

15 तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरे मध्य से, अर्थात तेरे भाइयों में से मेरे समान एक नबी को उत्पन्न करेगा; तू उसी की सुनना।
18 सो मैं उनके लिये उनके भाइयों के बीच में से तेरे समान एक नबी को उत्पन्न करूंगा; और अपना वचन उसके मुंह में डालूंगा; और जिस जिस बात की मैं उसे आज्ञा दूंगा वही वह उन को कह सुनाएगा।
15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
9 हे सिय्योन बहुत ही मगन हो। हे यरूशलेम जयजयकार कर! क्योंकि तेरा राजा तेरे पास आएगा; वह धर्मी और उद्धार पाया हुआ है।
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation;
16 क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने जगत से ऐसा प्रेम रखा कि उस ने अपना एकलौता पुत्र दे दिया, ताकि जो कोई उस पर विश्वास करे, वह नाश न हो, परन्तु अनन्त जीवन पाए।
17 परमेश्वर ने अपने पुत्र को जगत में इसलिये नहीं भेजा, कि जगत पर दंड की आज्ञा दे परन्तु इसलिये कि जगत उसके द्वारा उद्धार पाए।
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
14 फिर यीशु आत्मा की सामर्थ से भरा हुआ गलील को लौटा, और उस की चर्चा आस पास के सारे देश में फैल गई।
16 और वह नासरत में आया; जहां पाला पोसा गया था; और अपनी रीति के अनुसार सब्त के दिन आराधनालय में जा कर पढ़ने के लिये खड़ा हुआ।
17 यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता की पुस्तक उसे दी गई, और उस ने पुस्तक खोलकर, वह जगह निकाली जहां यह लिखा था।
18 कि प्रभु का आत्मा मुझ पर है, इसलिये कि उस ने कंगालों को सुसमाचार सुनाने के लिये मेरा अभिषेक किया है, और मुझे इसलिये भेजा है, कि बन्धुओं को छुटकारे का और अन्धों को दृष्टि पाने का सुसमाचार प्रचार करूं और कुचले हुओं को छुड़ाऊं।
19 और प्रभु के प्रसन्न रहने के वर्ष का प्रचार करूं।
20 तब उस ने पुस्तक बन्द करके सेवक के हाथ में दे दी, और बैठ गया: और आराधनालय के सब लोगों की आंख उस पर लगी थीं।
21 तब वह उन से कहने लगा, कि आज ही यह लेख तुम्हारे साम्हने पूरा हुआ है।
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
11 थोड़े दिन के बाद वह नाईंन नाम के एक नगर को गया, और उसके चेले, और बड़ी भीड़ उसके साथ जा रही थी।

11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

5 और उस ने उन के मन की कठोरता से उदास होकर, उन को क्रोध से चारों ओर देखा, और उस मनुष्य से कहा, अपना हाथ बढ़ा उस ने बढ़ाया, और उसका हाथ अच्छा हो गया।
6 तब फरीसी बाहर जाकर तुरन्त हेरोदियों के साथ उसके विरोध में सम्मति करने लगे, कि उसे किस प्रकार नाश करें॥
1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
17 इस पर यीशु ने उन से कहा, कि मेरा पिता अब तक काम करता है, और मैं भी काम करता हूं।

44 तुम जो एक दूसरे से आदर चाहते हो और वह आदर जो अद्वैत परमेश्वर की ओर से है, नहीं चाहते, किस प्रकार विश्वास कर सकते हो?
45 यह न समझो, कि मैं पिता के साम्हने तुम पर दोष लगाऊंगा: तुम पर दोष लगाने वाला तो है, अर्थात मूसा जिस पर तुम ने भरोसा रखा है।
46 क्योंकि यदि तुम मूसा की प्रतीति करते, तो मेरी भी प्रतीति करते, इसलिये कि उस ने मेरे विषय में लिखा है।
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
35 यीशु ने उन से कहा, जीवन की रोटी मैं हूं: जो मेरे पास आएगा वह कभी भूखा न होगा और जो मुझ पर विश्वास करेगा, वह कभी प्यासा न होगा।
37 जो कुछ पिता मुझे देता है वह सब मेरे पास आएगा, उसे मैं कभी न निकालूंगा।
38 क्योंकि मैं अपनी इच्छा नहीं, वरन अपने भेजने वाले की इच्छा पूरी करने के लिये स्वर्ग से उतरा हूं।
39 और मेरे भेजने वाले की इच्छा यह है कि जो कुछ उस ने मुझे दिया है, उस में से मैं कुछ न खोऊं परन्तु उसे अंतिम दिन फिर जिला उठाऊं।
40 क्योंकि मेरे पिता की इच्छा यह है, कि जो कोई पुत्र को देखे, और उस पर विश्वास करे, वह अनन्त जीवन पाए।
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted,
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you.

The mission of Jesus confirmed prophecy, and explained the so-called miracles of olden time as natural demonstrations of the divine power, demonstrations which were not understood. Jesus' works established his claim to the Messiahship. In reply to John's inquiry, "Art thou he that should come," Jesus returned an affirmative reply, recounting his works instead of referring to his doctrine, confident that this exhibition of the divine power to heal would fully answer the question. Hence his reply: "Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me." In other words, he gave his benediction to any one who should not deny that such effects, coming from divine Mind, prove the unity of God, — the divine Principle which brings out all harmony.

Jesus once said of his lessons: "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John vii. 16,17.)

Our Master healed the sick, practised Christian healing, and taught the generalities of its divine Principle to his students; but he left no definite rule for demonstrating this Principle of healing and preventing disease. This rule remained to be discovered in Christian Science. A pure affection takes form in goodness, but Science alone reveals the divine Principle of goodness and demonstrates its rules.

While we adore Jesus, and the heart overflows with gratitude for what he did for mortals, — treading alone his loving pathway up to the throne of glory, in speechless agony exploring the way for us, — yet Jesus spares us not one individual experience, if we follow his commands faithfully; and all have the cup of sorrowful effort to drink in proportion to their demonstration of his love, till all are redeemed through divine Love.
The Christ was the Spirit which Jesus implied in his own statements: "I am the way, the truth, and the life;" "I and my Father are one." This Christ, or divinity of the man Jesus, was his divine nature, the godliness which animated him. Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death. His mission was to reveal the Science of celestial being, to prove what God is and what He does for man.
Our Master taught no mere theory, doctrine, or belief. It was the divine Principle of all real being which he taught and practised. His proof of Christianity was no form or system of religion and worship, but Christian Science, working out the harmony of Life and Love.

Our heavenly Father, divine Love, demands that all men should follow the example of our Master and his apostles and not merely worship his personality. It is sad that the phrase divine service has come so generally to mean public worship instead of daily deeds.
The nature of Christianity is peaceful and blessed, but in order to enter into the kingdom, the anchor of hope must be cast beyond the veil of matter into the Shekinah into which Jesus has passed before us; and this advance beyond matter must come through the joys and triumphs of the righteous as well as through their sorrows and afflictions. Like our Master, we must depart from material sense into the spiritual sense of being.

Who is it that demands our obedience? He who, in the language of Scripture, "doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest Thou?"

Truth, Life, and Love are the only legitimate and eternal demands on man, and they are spiritual lawgivers, enforcing obedience through divine statutes.

When will Jesus' professed followers learn to emulate him in all his ways and to imitate his mighty works? ... It is possible, — yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman, — to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Life, of health and holiness.

For true happiness, man must harmonize with his Principle, divine Love; the Son must be in accord with the Father, in conformity with Christ. According to divine Science, man is in a degree as perfect as the Mind that forms him. The truth of being makes man harmonious and immortal, while error is mortal and discordant.
